Arsenal 3 Dinamo Zagreb 0

This was a very enjoyable game which is nice to see after all of the gloominess that this month seemed to encompass. We put out an impressive display with a still short squad with the likes of having Flamini partner with Cazorla or having Alexis start for what seems like the millionth time. All worked out in the end, which is the good thing.

We definitely grew into the game as in the first five minutes, it looked like Zagreb were willing to really work for this win. They pressured us well from the off and that's something that we had to deal with for the beginning of the half. It was impressive to see how we broke away from their pressing and seemed to cut them open several times with quick and incisive moves around their half.

It was obvious that Zagreb wanted to absorb the pressure and counter, but luckily we got the opening goal through a speedy counterattack. It started when Giroud intercepted the ball and then Santi laid it off to Alexis. Alexis dinked in a wonderful ball to Ozil who headed it in to make it 1-0 just before the 30' mark. Throughout the game, you would notice how many times Ozil gets into good scoring positions around the box, and he possibly could've gotten a second. This is something we have to definitely see more, as he could easily get many more goals a season if he continues to get in scoring positions.

As the game would go on, that duo of Alexis and Ozil would run rings around Zagreb and put in absolutely great performances that would make any football fan happy. It's really amazing to see how much freedom someone like Ozil has on the pitch and he keeps looking better and better.

Not long after that our second goal scorer, Alexis, made it 2-0 from a Monreal pass. One of these days, people just have to say that Monreal is best left-back in this league at the moment, because not only is he brilliant defensively, but today he showed just how influential he can be in our attacks as he tried to make a lot of things happen. What was good about this goal is that we lost the ball in the box, but we retrieved it again instead of letting them kick it out or counter with that lost ball.

Half time came and it all felt very deserved. For a side who just played two days ago, we looked very sharp. Players such as Cazorla, who hasn't been looking like himself for the past two league games really put in a stellar attacking and defensive performance. Throughout the game he constantly cleared our corners and was tracking back all the way up the pitch at times. Flamini also was good in the half and would continue to have a good game. He didn't try anything too fancy, just breaking up their play and re-distributing the ball.

The second half to me was even more enjoyable because once we made it 3-0, the hand-brake came off and we had a field day with some amazing football being played. It started a bit slow, but then we had a good move on the right hand side in which Joel Campbell played in a nicely weighted ball to Alexis and he scored again. It's always nice to see Alexis keeping his scoring record alive as hopefully this can help him have the confidence to score more in the league.

In the first 10-15 minutes, Alexis had chances to score, but looked like he lacked confidence or was overthinking what his next move was going to be. As the game showed, he grew into it and was a massive part in what we created and started to look like himself again.

We then saw the introduction of Ramsey for Giroud who had a decent amount of game time. Debuchy and Chambers had also come on for Bellerin and Cazorla at the end of the half. Zagreb tried to get a goal back, but we kept pulling it back from them and aiming for another goal. Our defense didn't have much to do today, but Cech did make one very good reaction save that kept us at 2-0. Credit has to be given to some of their players who kept the game at 3-0 because it could've been a higher scoreline but players like Antoilc cleared a lot of our chances. Some of their attacking players also tried to make things happen like Pjaca.

Hopefully this result leads us to go on and beat Olympiacos in Greece. It has never been an easy place for anyone to go and get a result, but there's no doubt who's the better team. They'll have their crazy crowd behind them, but we'll know that this is a do or nothing game. If we can have players like Oxlade Chamberlain and Theo Walcott back, then it will be even better.

* A quick mention to Joel Campbell, who I still have mixed feelings about. He had a good game today and worked hard, but I feel that there's still something missing about him. At the moment, he just seems like a good squad player, but a little thing I've noticed is that he makes good turns to keep possession which is a quirk I really like. I guess I'll have to be more patient, but I wouldn't mind seeing him on the bench if we decide to play Ramsey on the right again.
